NM-AIST (CREATES) student as plenary speaker during The 5th ECHO East Africa Biannual Symposium on Sustainable Agriculture and Appropriate Technologies

Ms. Angela Mkindi, who is funded by the CREATES, has been invited to be among the Plenary Speakers during the 5th ECHO East Africa Bi Symposium on Sustainable Agriculture and Appropriate Technologies. Based on her ongoing research and innovation on promoting usage of Botanical Pesticides, which has so far gained interest from within and outside Tanzania, Angela was selected as a high-ranking plenary speakers.
The Symposium will take place from 12 – 14 February, 2019 in Arusha Tanzania
Angela’s presentation is entitled “Sustainable Agro-Ecological Crop Pest Management using Botanical Pesticides”. Angela has been selected based on her strong initiatives and innovation on promoting conservation agriculture and sustainable integrated pest management. Her research is being published in high-ranking journals and has reached communities and farmers in the Arusha region that have faced disastrous pest attacks on their crops. Hence, Angela’s research is an example of applying innovative ideas for the benefit of the community.
