Project Name: Agri-Tech Horticultural Research Training, Learning and Business Hub
Summary of the Project
As part of its Sustainability strategy, CREATES has established a business hub that serves as a research, training, learning and income-generating unit for NM-AIST. The hub will focus on horticultural farming, pond fish farming and Spirulina farming. The hub has an agricultural resource unit that will offer training and provide other services on horticultural, fish farming and spirulina farming value chain to farmers, community, faculty members, and other actors.
Approach: The hub focuses on public-private partnership where experienced gurus in the horticultural, fish farming and spirulina farming research and business will be engaged. In the hub there will be different farming practices as part of research to compare different crop/fish management and productivity. In addition, both in-house farming and open-field farming are adopted to field-test performance of various farming technologies developed within NM-AIST.
